ESTATE ADMINISTRATOR
The estate administrator shall be appointed by the district court at the request of the party to the estate. The estate administrator shall administer the property to be distributed and divided. The administrator represents the estate in all aspects. This may involve selling assets, liquidating any business, paying the estate’s debts and trying to settle any disputes. Tax returns and final accounts must also be filed. For more significant actions, the administrator will consult with the estate’s beneficiaries and seek their views. The administrator is obliged to protect the interests of the estate.
The estate administrator must primarily try to reach a voluntary agreement between the party to the estate. If this is not successful, the estate administrator executes a forced transfer.
When the estate is prepared for division or distribution, the administrator must notify the party of the estate.
