ESTATE INVENTORY

An estate inventory is a written record of the assets and liabilities of the deceased and the surviving spouse.

The estate inventory is also the estate’s identification document and shows who has the right to represent the estate. In the probate, it must be stated who is the party of the estate, successors, and testamentary heirs.

When drawing up the inventory, an executor and two administrators must be appointed.

The estate inventory must be sent to the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) within four months of the death.

It can be complicated for a relative to investigate the assets and liabilities of the deceased. It can also be stressful for a loved one to have to deal with this on their own.

Wachtmeister Advokatbyrå can assist you with drawing up the estate inventory and with the distribution of the estate.
