PLAINTIFF ASSIGNMENTS
If you have been a victim of a crime, the district court may decide to appoint counsel for an injured party. The role of the plaintiff’s counsel is to support and assist you through the process. The counsel also assists the plaintiff in claiming damages in court. As a victim of crime, you can choose who you want to be your representative. You should indicate your choice in the initial contact with the police.
The cost of the counsel is paid by the state. Therefore, you do not have to pay any part of this cost.
