WILL
A will is a legally binding document that regulates how your estate will be settled when you die. For example, a will can be very important for cohabitants who want to inherit from each other, for married couples where the person who passes away first has children from a previous relationship, or when you want your heirs to inherit your estate with a disposition of individual property.
A will must be drawn up in writing and witnessed by two people present at the same time. The testator must sign the will in the presence of the witnesses, who must sign the document with their names. The witnesses should know that they are witnessing a will, but they do not need to know anything about its content.
A poorly thought-out and drafted will can have costly consequences in form of disputes over interpretation and ineffective ordinances. In addition, the provisions of the law are strictly applied and even a minor deviation from these rules may result in the entire will being considered invalid. It is therefore important that a will is clearly drafted and that there is no doubt as to what your intention is.
